CIDER MAKING
Each year staff and students working in HOPE (Hands-on Practical Education) bring out the cider press for all the PreK and kindergarten students to make cider with. Dropped apples were gathered at a local orchard and brought back to St. Albans City School where they were pulped and squeezed. 10-29-2019

Back in October 2015 we received grant money to purchase the durable Amish-built cider press our school uses.  The unit we have is made of stainless steel, regular steel, and cast iron. It should last for decades, if not longer.

These students have graduated since the picture was taken.

FAIRFIELD ALSO HAS A CIDER PRESS
Ms. Wade shared pictures of the cider press in action at Fairfield Center School. Their school does farm to school activities as we do.

RISEVT IN MS. STANTON'S PREK CLASSROOM
Mr. Moretti from the health-promoting RiseVT organization visited with Ms. Stanton's students. He read a story, played various games and presented the classroom with a kickball.  LINK TO PICTURES submitted by Ms. Stanton.

BLACK LIGHT PE
The younger grades have PE with Ms. Wight who each year uses black lights and colorfully painted objects to create a really fun experience. The camera does not take good pictures in that low light, however, the ones below provide some idea of what it looks like during her PE classes. 10-29-2019
