TIME CAPSULE
Kindergarten through 8th-grade students voted for one of the 3 models they thought was the exact size and shape of our time capsule. Voting was done in the cafeteria during lunches.
The votes were counted and these are the results.
The purple box had 221 votes.
The orange box had 146 votes.
The white box had 90 votes.
The purple box was clearly the most popular vote. Many students picked the purple box because it looked like the same size as the 1968 stone. Was the purple box the correct model?
Here is a hint: “311 picked the wrong box”
VETERANS DAY
St. Albans City School has celebrated Veterans Day in a big way for the last eight years thanks to the initiative of Team USA. They have long connected with local veterans organizations and all the district schools to honor veterans for their service. When Veterans Day falls on a weekday, a huge gathering takes place at Taylor Park. Students and staff from nearby schools walk to the park, watch a parade and listen to speakers mark the significance of the day. More distant schools bus their students to the event. This veterans day was one of those special days. In spite of cold temperatures and snowy conditions, turnout was large. This event brings our community together in an important way to honor the sacrifices our armed forces members have made to provide the freedoms and opportunities we experience. ATTENTION ALL WINTER ATHLETES!
There will be a winter sports informative meeting held Tuesday, November 19th from 5:00-6:30 pm in the cafeteria. You will also meet the coaches.
You will receive all paperwork needed in order to participate in your sport. It will be due PRIOR to participation in the first practices the week of December 2nd.
Your full schedule will be handed out at the meeting and during the first week of practices as well.

OPERATION HAPPINESS
Operation Happiness is a program of the United Way of Northwest VT. It provides a basket of food and toys for the children in the family (16 and under) for nearly 1000 needy families in Franklin and Grand Isle Counties. Donation sites are listed ON THIS LINK. Families who would benefit from this program can use the above link to contact our local Operation Happiness site.
