THE ST. ALBANS CITY SCHOOL 50TH CELEBRATION CONTINUES INTO 2020
Over the next several weeks, the daily announcements will include pictures from 1970 and a similar picture that was taken 50 years later in 2020. These pictures are also posted on the wall outside the big gym. Can you see anything that is the same 50 years later?

TEAM USA eCYBERMISSION PROJECTS
For this project, students gathered chicken manure, mixed it with differing amounts of water and then used that liquid to fertilize plants. Manure has high levels of nitrogen that can help plants grow. Too much or too little nitrogen can cause problems for plants. The students hoped to find the optimal fertilization amount with their eCybermission project.

For this project, the students decided to conduct experiments with three classroom tables. These tables had not been thoroughly cleaned for an extended time period and were presumably covered with germs. The students swabbed one table that had not been cleaned in any way. The second table was swabbed after using a standard household cleaning wipe. The third table was swabbed with various green cleaning products. The swabs were then swirled around three sets of petri dishes to see what kind of bacterial growth would occur. Our school uses green cleaning products. This project may be able to examine their effectiveness.

IMAGINATION PE
Ms. Bashand's students had PE with Ms. Wight on Wednesday. One of the eighth graders spent time in the class mentoring the students through various activities. Quite a few older students serve in a mentoring capacity with the younger-grade PE classes. 1-22-2020
