SCARECROW VOTE FOR ST. ALBANS CITY SCHOOL STUDENTS/STAFF

Although the October Stewardship day has long passed, the Stewardship Committee has been asked if classrooms could still vote for their favorite scarecrow. Then, like we did for naming the snowplow, the result could be posted in the announcements.

Today, Wednesday, December 14th, is your chance to vote on your favorite scarecrow. Your teacher will take a written tally of votes of everyone in the classroom for each of the 13 scarecrow choices.

All staff have received a link in their email inbox so that they can record their classroom’s or their own votes. Reporting votes needs to be done today and as soon as possible.

The scarecrow with the most votes will be identified in the Announcements on Thursday, the 15th.

MONTH of CODE 2022

Exploring computer science with creativity and fun at St Albans City School

Today our coding spotlight is on Flocabulary. This fun and interactive tool provides music to match up with coding concepts and themes. Our school has a subscription to Flocabulary, which also provides lesson plans to support coding activities. We like this robot lesson! You can choose to watch the music video to learn more about robots here: Link to Flocabulary Robot Music Video

Or for a longer lesson plan and activity where you think about and design your own robot, check this out: Link to Designing your Own Robot

WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA

What is Wreaths Across America?

It is a program where we honor deceased veterans by putting wreaths on their graves. Team USA is working with local Veterans groups to enhance the tradition throughout our community.  Students will be holding a ceremony on December 16th at Mt Calvary Cemetery in St. Albans, VT. This is a national event held each December.  For more information visit www.wreathsacrossamerica.org

Please consider supporting these efforts. Order form. Completed forms can be delivered to Team USA.

Thank you,  Team USA
