SNACKS
STRAWBERRIES: The strawberry plant is a perennial. This means if you plant one now, it will come back next year and the following and the year after that. It may not bear fruit immediately, but once it does, it will remain productive for about five years. Americans eat an average of three-and-a-half pounds of fresh strawberries each per year. It’s closer to five pounds if you count frozen ones. In a study, more than half of nine-year-olds picked strawberries as their favorite fruit. They’re nature’s candy! | |||

BAND
Beginning violins have a lesson this afternoon for both groups, Monday and Tuesday. If you do not have your instrument, please bring it for tomorrow and we will do it for the cello group 1 and any violin who does not have their instrument today. The string concert is next Wednesday for all string students, and Mr. Mehaffey will be seeing extra lessons for strings as he can work it in, today and tomorrow. Band lessons include Jeremiah, Drake, Issac, Paul, Kaitlin and Bella, Kaylie and Kianna together, Dakota and Galen, and Faith and Amber. Sr. Band will be rehearsing today at 2. |
EVENTS OR NOTICES
IT IS TIME TO START THINKING ABOUT FARM TO SCHOOL ACTIVITIES IN 2018
Even though all we can think about is winter right now, this is the time to start planning with Mrs. Smith for upcoming growing season activities - no matter how small, even if you just want to help garden somewhere for an hour.
Please talk to Mrs. Smith about how she can come to your classroom and plan a special activity with you in this next growing season. hsmith@maplerun.org
We are so lucky to have garden spaces and someone to help us enjoy them. LET'S TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS OPPORTUNITY TO BENEFIT FROM OUR FARM TO SCHOOL PROGRAM.
