LIKELY RECESS WEATHER

Wind chill will make it feel very cold outside today. If you plan to go out, dress warmly with snow pants, coats, hats, gloves and boots.

There is barely enough snow for the tubes to be used. They are out. There is very little cushioning beneath the snow which means care will need to be taken.

1. Do not aim for anyone downhill of you.
2. Get out of the way as soon as you reach the bottom
3. Try to walk up the sides with your tube
4. One or two people per tube

EVENTS AND NOTICES

DECEMBER 12th edWebinar
Last Spring, St. Albans City School won the SETDA, Student Voices award. In November, 6 students traveled to Washington DC to present about our school's transformative use of technology. Along with that award, our school was given the opportunity to lead a worldwide webinar for educators and students. This will take place next week on December 12. If your class would like to watch and participate in the webinar live, you can do so by registering through edWeb.net. The 6 students presenting will be busy over the next week getting ready and practicing!

What do you think?

STAGE TECH FOR BEAUTY AND THE BEAST
Drama is looking for stage tech students for the spring (5th-8th grade) production of Beauty and the Beast.

We will be looking for about 10 students that are seriously interested.

If you are interested in helping behind the scenes, come see Ms. Hartman.

SACS, IT IS TIME FOR OPERATION HAPPINESS!
The Renaissance community started collecting non-perishable food items on Monday, November 26th. Collected items will be donated to Operation Happiness which helps local families during the holiday season.

If the St. Albans City School community works together to collect 1500 food items, all communities in the school will get a popcorn party on December 21st.

Nonperishable food items will be collected from November 26th - December 7th.

We have 1213 food items now with just 287 to go to reach our goal of 1500.  Friday we deliver the food we have collected to Operation Happiness.  Please bring in whatever you can to reach 1500 items.  Thank you.

PICTURES AND REPORTS

TEAM USA NEWS
Mr. Kareem Hayes and his friend, Mr. Tanner Blais spent some time with Team USA students on Tuesday, 12/4. Tanner was involved in a tragic accident that left him with life-altering injuries. In just about 1.5 years Tanner has been able to overcome not being able to speak, walk and care for himself. Tanner and Kareem share this amazing story with our students about never giving up. Tanner's message of never being outworked is inspiring and truly amazing.

MAYOR TIM SMITH VISITED TRIUMPH
Mayor and SACS parent, Tim Smith spent the early morning meeting with Triumph students. He told them how St. Albans is governed and how it was that he became mayor. Mr. Tim Smith also answered many government-related questions asked by the students. It was a productive gathering for all present.  LINK TO 13 PICTURES

DONATION CHECK FROM EXXON/MOBILE
Each year Energy North and the service station staff on Lake street find a way to donate $500 to St. Albans City School. We always gratefully put it towards technology, math and science projects. THANK YOU. Assistant principal Rouleau is shown accepting the check on behalf of the school.
