TIME CAPSULE GUESSES
Here are 3 cardboard models of what our time capsule might look like. Which one do you think is the actual size and shape of our time capsule? The models will be on display in the cafeteria this week.

WELL INSTALLATION AT THE VEGETABLE GARDENS
St. Albans City School has long relied on water tanks filled by the fire department to water the gardens. This year
RiseVT supplied funding to install a shallow well system on the East side of the gardens. A 500-gallon tank was buried seven feet down and drainage pipelines will gradually fill the tank with groundwater. In the spring and hand-pump will be installed to allow students and community gardeners to water their plants.  LINK TO 11 PICTURES connected with the well water project.

St. ALBANS STEELERS ARE IN A CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

This Saturday, November 2nd, 9:30am at Essex High School. You are welcome to come and cheer on these St. Albans City School students.

ADVENTURERS WERE VISITED BY SERGEANT TALLEY
We had a visit from Officer Talley today to talk to us about how to become a police officer, his uniform, his favorite part of the job, his vehicles, and the police department. 10-31-2019  From Ms. K. Bachand

HARVEST OF THE MONTH
St. Albans City School celebrates Harvest of the Month where one Vermont-grown vegetable or fruit is celebrated and served in our cafeteria. This month sweet potatoes are the focus.

November | Sweet Potatoes
Happy November!  The leaves have fallen, the temperatures are dropping, and the daylight is disappearing.  What better time to nourish your body with this sweet and starchy root vegetable?  Sweet Potatoes are rich in fiber and contain an array of vitamins and minerals such as iron, calcium, selenium, and vitamins B and C.  They also contain an antioxidant called beta-carotene, which converts to vitamin A once consumed.  Though many recognize sweet potatoes for their bright orange insides, they can also be white, yellow, or purple depending on the variety.
