ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR MONDAY, APRIL 13th

IMPORTANT MESSAGE AND SHORT VIDEO
FROM THE PRINCIPAL AND ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL

Final Memo - Friday

Dear St. Albans City School Family,

Tonight we are bringing you a video to share our Remote Learning Website. This video will take you through the use of our system, and show you where you can find the information you need and the learning links your children need to start on Monday, April 13.

To access the Remote Learning Website, go to our Website (Maplerun.org/o/sacs) and click on the button in the middle of the page. From there you can navigate the site using the dropdown menu up top or the buttons on the site. The video steps you through.

Thank you for all that you are doing. We are so lucky to be part of a supportive school family and community.

We Are Raider Strong!

Joan and Stacie

ZOOMING

REMOTE LEARNING
We are all having to adjust to a new learning reality. This picture shows remote learning using the program Seesaw (PreK-3rd grade). While Seesaw's use does not officially begin until Monday some learning groups are trying out practice runs. In the picture above, the Seesaw assignment was examined from two houses simultaneously.  This student is at one house online and on Facetime while one parent was at another house helping her to explore the new program. Amazing.

MARTIAL ART
Here is a student working on achieving her next belt - broke this board!!!!

6th GRADE INCREDIBLES STUDENT
It really is great to see the amazingly creative and fun ideas families are using to help each other cope during our Stay Safe time at home. This 6th grader from Team Incredibles, and his awesome family came up with an idea to have theme family dinner hours! How fun is that? Do you recognize any of these “Incredible” Star Wars characters? This might be a great idea for your family to try too!

BIRTHDAY STUDENT

CONTENT WANTED
St. Albans City School families and staff members, if you have anything positive to share on the announcements that show what students and adults are doing to promote learning and a sense of community in this time of uncertainty, then please send it on to Mr. Craib at mcraib@maplerun.org. Please add a short descriptive note to go with your content. It would also be helpful if you wrote that you are providing consent to share your images, video clips, artwork, etc... Thank you.

SACS DIGITAL CITIZENS, ONLINE TIPS FOR FAMILIES
You can learn a lot about someone by looking at their digital footprint.  That is a record of the places they go online. In this activity, families share the clues and see what they learn about each example.  What do you think people would learn from your digital footprint? Digital footprints are important because they can be seen by not just friends but also by schools and employers.

Have fun investigating the digital footprint clues as a family:
