MESSAGE FROM THE LIBRARY
Since the in-school part of the year ended somewhat abruptly, we realize that students may still have library materials that they no longer need or have finished reading. If you wish to return them, we urge you to drop them by the school. If your student is ready to check out other books, the online catalog can be accessed here (https://sacslibrary.follettdestiny.com/common/welcome.jsp?context=saas20_4448088) or on the City School webpage under Family Resources. If you prefer, I am happy to help find resources and/or give recommendations of enjoyable literature. I’ve had the privilege to get to know most of our students, and so may be able to find some books particularly tailored to their taste. At any rate, feel free to contact me anytime by email at swade@maplerun.org and we will prepare your order for pickup! |

EMBRYOLOGY PROJECT UPDATE #4
10-11 Days left until hatching
CANDLING EGGS
Mr. Rouleau used a light to determine if the eggs that are being incubated at school are fertilized and viable. If the baby birds are growing inside the eggs it should be possible to tell development is happening at this point in time. Check out the candling videos below.Information from Wikipedia
Candling is a method used in embryology to study the growth and development of an embryo inside an egg. The method uses a bright light source behind the egg to show details through the shell, and is so called because the original sources of light used were candles.
