Humanities (July 6th-16th) Grades: 7th-8th- Students will look at the place of racism and discrimination in our society. They will recognize progress that has been made, work that is being done and they will explore ways that they can work as an individual or part of a group to seek change. (10 student capacity)

Gardening/Chicken Care (July 6th-9th)  Grades: 4th-8thChildren and youth learn to care for themselves and other living things through this garden program. Together we will discover where our food comes from. We will taste fresh vegetables straight from the garden, tend and harvest crops, collect seeds, make compost, learn about worms, insects and pollinators and explore our natural environment in hands-on science based learning. Students will also participate in small and large group team building activities with other campers. For chicken care, students will do chores that keep the hens happy, healthy, and safe. The daily chores will consist of clean/refill water, feed, observe and collect eggs. Other chores may consist of managing the bedding, freshen the nest boxes and sanitize the coop. (10 student capacity)

West African Percussion Ensemble (July 13th-23rd)  Grades: 4th-8th- We will play a variety of styles of music from across the Atlantic, discuss cultures older than our country, and become knowledgeable musicians.  Students will learn to play multiple instruments, including the djembe, kpanlogo, axatse, gankogui, and the gyil - all of which come from Western Africa, and have roots in many countries.  Prior percussion experience not needed in order to participate! (10 student capacity)

Dance!  (July 13th-23rd)  Grades: 4th-8th- For this learning strand, jazz, hip-hop, contemporary routines will be offered. The students will work on pieces and technique for a final production! (10 student capacity)

Canoeing/Fishing (July 20th-23rd)  Grades: 4th-8th- This learning strand will offer students an opportunity to take a closer look at our local ecosystems. Students will travel to different locations to observe and explore some areas they may be familiar with, but in a whole new way and with a whole new lens. We plan on using canoes to help us explore some swamp and pond habitats so that we can get up close and personal. For fishing, students will learn to tie different knots, bait a hook, learn water safety and learn to identify different fish. This camp will combine daily fishing experiences with instructional activities designed to teach the community’s youth both the art of fishing and the importance of understanding and protecting the environment. (10 student capacity)
