Dear St. Albans City School Family,
Tonight we want to share Pods, why we have them, how we designed the layouts, and how we are cleaning the rooms. A Pod is the smallest group of students and adults in the building that share a room and learn together. Our Learning Communities are going to keep grade levels in separate rooms. Each teacher will lead a single pod. The teacher that leads the pod will be the main teacher for the students, and the teachers will switch for content areas. Teachers switching will not occur in grades Prek-1st. Pods are designed to maximize social distancing and minimize the number of other students and staff your child will come in contact with.
Our pods will have 10 or fewer students during the Hybrid in-person days. Rooms are set up with a station assigned to each child, and the stations are all at least 6 feet apart. Children will have a toolbox (clear shoebox) with their supplies at their station. They will not share supplies with other students in the room. Each night the room will be sanitized and disinfected. This video will show you the process we are using to clean the rooms.
We hope this information helps to start to explain the level of care we are taking to keep everyone safe.
We Are Raider Strong!
