PICTURES UNFORTUNATE CHICKEN NEWS The chickens are now an established and important part of St. Albans City School life. Many students visit with the chickens every day. Therefore, it is with sadness that we report the passing of Crooked Beak, one of the most popular chickens. She was found in the lower wetland drainage area next to the basketball court and was likely killed by a hawk. Mr. Rouleau, the teacher-caretaker of the chickens, buried our friend on school property. Let’s celebrate the remaining chickens and the value of their presence each day they are with us.
WALKING AND BIKING Our Walking Wednesdays are on hold but walkers, bikers and skateboarders still keep coming to school regularly. Students and parents are benefiting from the exercise and these are nice activities to witness. 10-23-2020 USA - RECESS These Green Group students enjoyed the breezy and surprisingly warm Friday recess time. Some chose be active by making a game of catching falling leaves from the large maple tree situated in the PreK/Kindergarten playground area. Others enjoyed a quiet outside moment or passed a football back and forth, much as previous groups of USA students did going back years in time. IMAGINATION - WIGHT Ms. Bachand's students spent time on the cafeteria patio with early-age-group P.E. teacher, Ms. Wight. As always, Ms. Wight found creative ways to keep her young students entertained, and motivated. Both activities shown were elegantly simple and the students were very happy to be in class. |
