PICTURES TRAVELERS 1st GRADE - LEWIS While some may dread the arrival of winter, others revel in the first appearance of a significant snowfall. This Travelers classroom braved high winds and low temperatures to get outside and play in the fresh snow on Monday. Check out these 10 Pictures INVESTIGATORS MORNING YOGA - BOUDREAU Ms. Boudreau’s classroom starts every school day with a little yoga. They like the challenge of the moves and the way it makes them feel. The students finish each session ready to learn. 11-3-2020 BANK STREET AREA WALKING GROUP Mr. Weinstein is a modern-day Pied Piper drawing in families and students for walks to and from school. It is not uncommon to see as many as 15 people join in on this informal Walking School Bus group associated with this parent. He shared a few pictures from one of their walks to school. The dog is a big draw for some student participation. 10-23-2020 BULLYING AND HARASSMENT DISCUSSIONS As part of their mission to work on behalf of students and the overall school community, the counseling staff makes the rounds to all 4-8th grade classrooms during the early part of the school year to educate students about bullying and harassment. These pictures were taken in the 4-6th grade Triumph classrooms on 10-26-2020 of one of those educational sessions. Students learned how to recognize inappropriate bullying behaviors, how to serve as allies for students being ill-treated and about other steps they can take to prevent further harm to themselves and others. The counselors and school resource officer made clear that they are always available to address issues of bullying and harassment as they arise. YEARBOOK COVER ART WANTED Hello 8th Graders and other artists. The yearbook committee is starting to put together the 2021 yearbook and we are asking for your help. A cover design for the yearbook is needed by Friday, November 10th. If you have creative ideas and original artwork to share with us, then let us know right away. We want the blue and white school colors to be used for the artwork. The back cover should also use the school colors. There should be room on the front cover somewhere for a title and date, and on the back there should be room for a quote. We welcome inspiring quotes even if you don’t want to submit artwork. These are cover samples from recent yearbooks. Yours submission may look completely different. Thank you for the help and if you have any questions, or are looking to submit cover art or a quote, then please contact Molly Clark at mlclark@maplerun.org or Mr. Craib at mcraib@maplerun.org |
