PICTURES VOYAGERS Students in Ms. Sato’s classroom were in the process of reading historical fiction involving Native Americans, the British, and the Americans in the early 1800s. 1-28-2021. By reading and talking about this text, they were learning about American history and the clash of cultures taking place around the war of 1812. There was an opportunity to explore how the Native Americans perceived what was happening to them based on additional documents from that time period. Ms. Sato asked her students to predict and write about what will happen to the main characters in their book based on their newly-gained knowledge of history at that time. Link to 23 Pictures. |
LOST AND FOUND In past school years, Ms. Vaillancourt gathered, laundered and notified potential owners of the lost and found clothing items in the daily announcements. Family members could come into the building and find their student's items in various tubs. There is still a tub being used this year for misplaced items. Unfortunately, for safety reasons, the tub resides outside the school front entrance. Found clothing like coats, hats and gloves are simply placed there. Families, If a student returns home without a key clothing item, you can check this tub for the missing gear. We want each item to find its way back to the correct owner. Thank you. |
8TH GRADER BABY PICTURES WANTED The yearbook committee would like 8th graders to submit baby pictures for the yearbook. It is best if you submit digital copies of your pictures to Mr. Craib at mcraib@maplerun.org. If you need to bring in the original image for scanning, you can give it to your teacher who will pass it on to Mr. Craib. The picture will be scanned as soon as it is received and immediately returned safely to the student. |
