DREAMERS - RANKIN

Ms. Darcie Rankin regularly visits Ms. LeBlanc’s PreK classroom to provide STEAM learning experiences. Lately, she has been teaching the students about the use of tools and hardware. Previously, the students had practiced using screws and bolts. On Friday, 1-29-2021, she had them learning how to use hammers and nails. Ms. Darcie made the experience a safe one by using golf tees as nails, light-weight wooden lobster claw cracking hammers and blocks of rigid foam to hammer the nails into. The class was a huge success with students reluctant to stop their work at the end of the period. Ms. Rankins class ended with a stretching and relaxation breathing exercise.  Link to 27 Pictures.

NAVIGATORS - RANKIN

Ms. Darcie also visited Ms. Emmons’ PreK classroom to teach students about nails and hammers. Once again, there was joy in the learning experience.  Link to 16  Pictures.

ADVENTURERS KINDERGARTEN - RANKIN

Ms. Darcie Rankin fired up Ms. Farrell’s students’ construction imaginations by telling them a version of the three little pigs story. Once they had heard the story, she gave them paper bags with the building supplies needed to create straw, stick and brick buildings. Each student brought their buildings up to the front of the class to have them tested for durability with a wind making hair dryer disguised as a wolf. Link to 60 Pictures.

8TH GRADER BABY PICTURES WANTED

The yearbook committee would like 8th graders to submit baby pictures for the yearbook. It is best if you submit digital copies of your pictures to Mr. Craib at mcraib@maplerun.org. If you need to bring in the original image for scanning, you can give it to your teacher who will pass it on to Mr. Craib. The picture will be scanned as soon as it is received and immediately returned safely to the student.
