MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL AND ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL February 15, 2021 Dear St. Albans City School Families, Tomorrow Tuesday, February 16th is a remote learning day, as you heard today from the Superintendent. Your child’s class will be in session remotely (if they would have been in person on Tuesday) with work assigned and teachers checking in and teaching throughout the day. The message from the Superintendent stated that we would be sending home meals today. That is true for Blue Hybrid 7th, 8th and preK students. All other grades and the Green Hybrid students will get a meal pack on Thursday February 18th. This is the bulk meal pack that we send home for breaks with the equivalent of 7 breakfasts and 7 lunches done as bulk items. Each child gets two bags one is refrigerated and the other does not require refrigeration. This has been well received by students in the past, and something we will continue for breaks. PICTURES USA SNOW TUBING It was Team USA’s chance to use the snow tubes first thing on Monday morning 2-15-2021. The conditions were excellent for long rides down the gentle slope. Link to 12 Pictures. IMAGINATION INDOOR RECESS - KOLDYS With outdoor temperatures below 10 degrees Fahrenheit on Friday, Ms. Koldys’ students stayed indoors but still active. 2-12-2021. The pictures were taken of students dancing and sweating to some vigorous online dance videos. Link to 26 Pictures. VOYAGERS INDOOR RECESS - CHISHOLM, BASHAW, SATO Students on this team participated in a wide range of activities during their indoor recess time (Friday, 2-12-2021). They played cornhole, played a catch with a foam ball, played four-square, threw paper airplanes, played cards, or read. Link to 26 Pictures. |
PARENT COMMUNITY COUNCIL We are holding our first Parent Community Council Meeting Thursday, February 18th at 5:30 pm. We look forward to having our parents that have been with us since Kindergarten, whose children are now in 7th grade join us. We also welcome new families that want to be more involved in our school community and our families that have joined us over the years. Our meeting will be over Zoom. 8TH GRADER BABY PICTURES WANTED We now have 20 out of 70 students who have submitted baby pictures. We are hoping for more since it is wonderful to see how students have grown as the years have passed by. It is best if you submit digital copies of your pictures to Mr. Craib at mcraib@maplerun.org. If you need to bring in the original image for scanning, you can give it to your teacher who will pass it on to Mr. Craib. The picture will be scanned as soon as it is received and immediately returned safely to the student. |
