INCREDIBLES MATH - KNOTT

On Monday 3-8-2021, fourth-graders participated in a math lesson in which they had to solve various word problems working individually and in pairs. The problems could be solved in several ways using addition and multiplication. There were abundant discussions and demonstrations of the various strategies used by students. Link to 20 Pictures.

VOYAGERS SCIENCE - BASHAW

Fourth graders learned about the scientific method through a static electricity project involving salt, pepper, plastic forks and bowls, and a dishtowel. They observed that pepper leaped onto the fork tines from the plastic bowl after the fork had been rubbed vigorously with the dishtowel. The process appeared to be a magnetic one, but was it? The project inspired a bunch of questions about the science behind what they observed.  Link to 27 Pictures.
