Travel information: If you or your family have any out-of-state travel plans, for any individual who is not fully vaccinated, this is a reminder that Vermont travel guidelines are still in place. 

 

Upon returning home you may choose:

  • Not have a COVID test and quarantine for 14 days, or 

  • Have a COVID test after 7 days of quarantine. If your test after 7 days is negative, then your quarantine may end.

SPORTS


SACS will offer "Open Field" afternoons to play catch and work on minor fundamentals for 5th-8th baseball and softball players only beginning April 12th.

4TH GRADE ART - CHEROUNY

Shown below are a few classroom examples of paintings of eggs that were made to show how students might imagine disguising them in different environments. They had read an illustrated book called “The Quiet Egg” and talked about local and imaginary eggs that could have certain colored shells to be hidden from predators.  This was a fun project because there are birds migrating and laying eggs now. 

 

Ms. Cherouny also shared other 4th grade student learning in a comic book format known as comic style.

Our SACS library has multiple copies of most of the books on this year’s list, so be sure to check them out today!  Voting takes place this spring, beginning April 30th and ending May 28th. FOOD PURCHASE BENEFIT RELEVANT TO ALL OUR STUDENTS’ FAMILIES


The State of Vermont will soon begin issuing food debit  (P-EBT) cards for Vermont families.  These cards can be used to purchase food in grocery stores, convenience stores, online retailers, and farmers' markets where 3SquaresVT (SNAP) benefits are accepted.   St. Albans City School, being a Universal Meals Site, automatically entitles all of our families to receive these cards.  The first round of benefits (from September 2020 to February 2021) is expected to be mailed to your home in mid-April.  Benefits for March -June 2021 are expected to be issued in July 2021.   For more information and updates on these cards, check out the link below.  We will notify you in our Announcements of any updates we receive.



EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT PERSONNEL (ESP) EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

St. Albans City School is looking to fill Educational Support Personnel (ESP) positions. Qualified candidates must be collaborative team members and have a passion for children. Individuals will work with research-based intervention strategies and support differentiated classroom settings to meet the needs of our students. Behavior management skills and knowledge of Conscious Discipline is a plus. Ability to support students in feeling as if they belong and are held accountable. Associates Degree or equivalent.
