August 26, 2021

Dear St. Albans City School Families –

Today our PreK students had their first day of school. We are now all here, and the 2021-2022 school year is fully underway.

We want to thank our families for their continued support in helping us remain safe. We had several families that stayed home the first day because they had a positive case in their home, they were ill, or they were waiting for test results. We know how hard that must have been, and we want you to know how much we appreciate your willingness to help keep us all safe.

We also had amazing support from our students and families around following the other COVID expectations. When we each do what we need to do to stay safe, we support our whole school family.

Finally, we want to make sure that everyone is aware that our School is hosting a vaccine clinic for those 12 and over (including adults) offering the Pfizer (first or second dose). The clinic is on September 1st and 22nd from 9:00-5:00 in the St. Albans City School Large Gym. We welcome parents/guardians to accompany their student for their shot; however, you would not have to be here, we can support your child with the Immunization Clinic Consent Form. All visitors will enter and exit through the gym entrance and will have access to the large gym only. This clinic is open to the whole community and is for students over 12 and adults of all ages. We are so proud to partner with the Vermont Department of Health to provide this support for our community.

Thank you for a very smooth start to the school year.

Joan and Stacie

ADVENTURERS PREK - KOSKI

This group of young students took time on Thursday morning (8-26-2021) to make large name tags. Ms. Koski provided them with names in large outlines on a tag, crayons, and many kinds of stickers. After these tags are completed, they will be laminated and used to designate student spaces. The students were having a great time with the task. There are also a few pictures of the children having some recess time under the school’s big tent. It was already hot outside by mid-morning.  Link to 29 Pictures.

DISCOVERY - LUCAS

Ms. Lucas challenged her students to build the tallest structure with a set of long and fairly weak pipe cleaners. Check out these 7 photos.

TRAVELERS TWINS

If anyone in school sees students or staff sharing some kind of common type of dress, then send Mr. Craib a photo to share on the announcements (mcraib@maplerun.org). Example from Travelers below. It can be more than two people in a picture.
