WALKING WEDNESDAY IS TOMORROW

After a year of being dormant, our Walking Wednesday program is starting up again.  We want students to know that walking and biking to school can be fun and worthwhile for social and health reasons. To achieve this goal we have organized “Walking School Bus” routes supervised by adults. Check the map out below and find where and when students can join walking buses along their routes this Wednesday. Try to be at your stop 5 minutes before the Walking School Bus is due to show up.

WALKING SCHOOL BUSES ONLY TRAVEL TO SCHOOL in the morning and do not shepherd students home at the end of the school day.

INCENTIVES

All walkers and bikers should come to the big tent when they arrive on Walking Wednesdays.

Students who walked or biked will receive stickers and small plastic toe tag tokens that can be laced onto their shoes. Students who join 13 or more of the 16 scheduled walks, and can prove it with their tokens, will receive a metal insulated water bottle.

When joining a Walking School Bus, walking rather than biking is recommended

PICTURES

DISCOVERY PE - JARVIS

With it raining heavily outside, Ms. Jarvis’ 5th graders moved into half of the large gym for a variation on the game of tag. The song “It’s raining tacos” played in the background as the students ran around with a taco (rubber chicken wrapped in a sit-spot) until they got tired. The tacos were passed onto tagged students and those people became the taggers until they tagged someone else with the taco. Link to 10 Pictures.   8-30-2021.

INCREDIBLES MUSIC - HARTMAN

The Incredibles 4th graders were introduced to ukuleles by Ms. Hartman. They learned about the instrument structure and various strumming techniques plus a few cords. The students were quite interested in learning to play their instruments. They sometimes found it hard to stop strumming when instructions were being given but figured out how to do so by the end of class.  Link to 14 Pictures. 8-30-2021
