ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 1st
COVID UPDATE August 31, 2021
Dear St. Albans City School Families,
Last night we received information indicating that a member of our school community has tested positive for COVID 19. As part of our Health and Safety measures, we are having students who may have been in close contact with this individual remain home until all quarantining requirements have been met.
We have communicated with the affected students/staff via email or phone about their quarantine requirements. We will do additional contact tracing and provide any additional information to contacts today. If you have not been contacted you or your children are not a close contact and you do not need to quarantine at this time.
We encourage all staff, students, and families to follow all the necessary COVID guidelines (wearing masks, staying home when sick, physical distancing, and handwashing) and communicate with one of our nurses if you or your children might have symptoms or have tested positive with COVID-19.
We appreciate everyone’s understanding and support.

PICTURES & NEWS FIRE DRILL A fire drill was held at our school on Tuesday morning. Students practiced efficiently exiting their classrooms through their exterior doors or stairwells and filing silently to designated areas around the school building. They wore masks and stayed with their pod groups. They did an excellent job of following the fire drill plan and expectations. 8-31-2021 ADVENTURERS KINDERGARTEN P.E. - WIGHT Ms. Farrell’s students had a blast playing a game of netting minnows in the little gym. Hands were sanitized right after the game. Adults were commenting on how large the gym felt with all of the storage items removed from it. 8-31-2021 ADVENTURES - FARRELL It was choice time in Ms. Farrell’s classroom when these photos were taken. Link to 20 Pictures. 8-31-2021 ADVENTURERS PREK/K TEACHER TWINS The two instructors in this classroom came in with matching stripes -a totally unplanned pairing. Do any of you have matching clothing, shoes, hairstyles, or something else that deserves a picture in the announcements? Have your teacher take a picture and share it with Mr. Craib, or call him to your room for a photo. |
WALKING WEDNESDAY IS TODAY (OPTIONAL - the regular buses still run) After a year of being dormant, our Walking Wednesday program is starting up again. We want students to know that walking and biking to school can be fun and worthwhile for social and health reasons. To achieve this goal we have organized “Walking School Bus” routes supervised by adults. Check the map out below and find where and when students can join walking buses along their routes this Wednesday. Try to be at your stop 5 minutes before the Walking School Bus is due to show up. WALKING SCHOOL BUSES ONLY TRAVEL TO SCHOOL in the morning and do not shepherd students home at the end of the school day.
All walkers and bikers should come to the big tent when they arrive on Walking Wednesdays.
When joining a Walking School Bus, walking rather than biking is recommended |
