FISHING AT LOUIE’S LANDING NEAR SWANTON - CIOFFI & ROULEAU

The canoeing and fishing camp chose to head up to the Missisquoi River to canoe on Tuesday. The camp leaders worried that the wind on Lake Champlain would be too challenging for the new canoers. Well, it turned out that even though their entry point at Louie’s Landing was more protected from the wind than a really large body of water, it was still way too windy to canoe. They fished and played near the landing instead. When fishing lost its novelty, the campers explored the water's edge and dabbled with rock skipping. It was such a beautiful day to be outside that no-one had trouble entertaining themselves.  Link to 46 Pictures.   Link to 30-second video of the campers playing on the shore. 8-3-2021

GEOCACHING & HIKING CAMP - WIGHT, MARRIN, KELLY

The campers spent their Tuesday morning walking to all the remaining St. Albans city former elementary school buildings. These are beautiful old structures that each were used to contain over a hundred elementary-aged city children before every student was shifted into the consolidated school on Bellows street over 50 years ago. Those buildings have become affordable housing units, a senior center,  the St. Albans Museum, or the recreation center for St. Albans. Here are a few photos of the campers during their hike around the city. 8-3-2021
