WALKING WEDNESDAY IS TODAY, OCTOBER 20TH

The weather for walking is predicted to be dry, cloudy, 48 degrees, and with little wind.

This is an invitation to join this week’s Walking Wednesday. It still counts if you come by bicycle. The weather should be fine and you can enjoy company while walking/biking. We recommend that if you bike you travel independently.  Even if you don’t want stickers or walking foot trinkets, it would be helpful if you would check-in at the front entrance so we know how many people walked and biked to school. Thank you.

VOLUNTEERS WANTED FROM STUDENT FAMILY MEMBERS AND SCHOOL STAFF

The Walking Wednesday program can always use a few more adult volunteers to safely escort students to school. There are 12 more Walking Wednesdays distributed over the remaining school year. It only involves walking to school one-way on those mornings starting at about 6:50am and finishing at 7:25am. If you think you may be interested, then contact Mitch Craib at mcraib@maplerun.org.

PICTURES

DISCOVERY 5TH GRADE PE - JARVIS

These students engaged in a vigorous P.E. session rolling around the gym in multiple ways: backward and seated, forwards and seated, on belly using just arms, spinning left, spinning right, relay races, etc. These were great movements for developing core and limb strength. Beyond that, it was clearly great fun. Link to 25 Pictures. 10-18-2021

NAVIGATORS PREK - ROSS

Several activities took place in Ms. Ross’s room when these photos were taken. First, students got a chance to hear and then try to make beautiful vibration sounds with a metal bowl. Then, students went to various exploration stations around the room. One group used medical toys and practiced as nurses or doctors in the kitchen area. Another group built with blocks. Several students populated model houses while other built roadways. The last group built structures with magnetized components on a special light table. Link to Pictures. 10-15-2021.

FUN FRIDAY PICTURES FROM KALEIDOSCOPE LAST WEEK

Ms. Smith shared a few pictures of students on Fun Friday in one of the kaleidoscope classrooms. Link to 6 Pictures.

ODDS AND ENDS PICTURES

DREAMERS KINDERGARTEN P.E. - BRANON

These pictures were taken of Ms. Dupont’s students in Mr. Branon’s P.E. Class. They jumped on mini-trampolines, played with rubberized balls and large hula hoops, built structures with wooden bricks, and played with an oversized board game. Link to 25 Pictures. 10-14-2021
