TEAM USA VETERANS BREAKFAST

Team USA once again provided a free meal for any veterans and their close family members the day before veterans day. LINK TO 44 PICTURES

Due to covid restrictions, the food and coffee were served using an outdoor drive-through system. Cars pulled up at the Big Gym entrance and students handed veterans bagged donuts and hot cups of coffee.

Numerous components of the veterans' breakfast were orchestrated by the 7th and 8th grade USA students. They organized donations of food and beverages from local businesses,, made many directional signs, planted many small USA flags around the breakfast site, set up a food tent and tables, and stood at corners to direct veterans to the right spot at school. Whenever veterans appeared, students thanked them for their service.

Ms. Lawyer’s Navigators classroom made cards and thank you notes that were stapled to the food bags that were handed out. They also stood outside and waved to the visiting veterans.

INVESTIGATORS 2nd GRADE BOWLING - WIGHT

PE teacher, Ms. Wight, helped these young students develop their bowling techniques and knowledge. They took turns either knocking the pins over with a light-weight rubberized bowling balls or setting the plastic pins up for other students to knock down.  Link to 22 Pictures. 11-9-2021

VOYAGERS MUSIC - HARTMAN

Ms. Hartman had her students compose their own music using online software created by Classics for Kids. Link to site for composing. After they selected a variety of whole, half, or quarter notes, they could get the software to play the music. They were able to share it with their neighbors or Ms. Hartman. Their work sounded good and encouraged them to learn more about composing music. Link to 28 Pictures.

DISCOVERY TWINS

INVESTIGATORS 3RD GRADE NOODLE TAG - JARVIS

Just before PE class ended, Ms Jarvis asked students to play a game of tag using shortened pool noodles. Students had a blast running around and tagging each other or helping tagged participants to unfreeze for further activity.
