TOMORROW IS WALKING WEDNESDAY

This is the only organized walk scheduled for February. Please come and join us on this walk. Know that students all around Vermont are doing their winter walk this week. February 2nd is considered the state-wide winter walking day for the school year.  We anticipate it being a breezy 30 degree morning.

Note: For those of you accumulating foot tokens for a water bottle at the end of the year, we are keeping track of walkers. Signatures will be collected. We would like the bottles to go to those who walked at the scheduled events at least 13 times.

PICTURES & NEWS

100TH DAY OF SCHOOL THIS YEAR
Friday is expected to be the 100th school day this academic year for all our students. For years now having a common 100th day has not been possible. Until recently, kindergartners and PreK students started school later in the school year than older students and, during the first year or so of the pandemic, in-person school days were out of whack for a range of age groups. However, this year everyone started school on the same day, August 25th, and we have held in-person classes every day since for all age groups. Tuesday will the the 97th day.

TRIUMPH 5TH GRADE SMOOTHIES - MAILLET

Fifth grade Triumph students made smoothies from a math problem recipe! They were delicious and made for a fun start to our Friday.

8TH GRADER BACK IN TIME PICTURE

SNOW TUBE USE REFRESHER

  1. NEVER drag the snow tubes on the sidewalk. Use the tubes on the hill and leave them at the top of the hill at the end of your session of using them.

  2. One person per tube

  3. Wear masks while using the tubes. Why, you may ask? People tend to cluster closely together at times. With the fun of tubing, there is often lots of loud talking and screaming. Wearing a mask is a safety measure.

  4. If you tie tubes together, be courteous and untie them for the next people to use them. It is not easy to untie them.

8TH GRADE BABY PICTURES

The yearbook committee is collecting baby pictures from 8th graders. Please find a picture to have posted in this year’s book. If you don’t have one from the first year of life, then consider turning in one from the first six years or so (example - as a kindergarten student). We would like a "baby-picture" from every 8th grader.

Digital copies can be sent directly to Mr. Craib at mcraib@maplerun.org

If you want to bring in a hard-copy photo you can give it to your teacher. Mr. Craib will scan the photo immediately and return it to you the day you bring it in.

The picture below is of a student from a previous 8th grade group in the last few years.
