PICTURES TAPPING MAPLE TREES WITH H.O.P.E. (hands-on-practical-education) It is an exciting time of the year - It is sugaring season. For the two years prior to this one maple sugaring got dropped from the educational plan. This year is different with covid-19 appearing to wane in our region. Mr. Hoben and Mr. Deslauriers have been gathering up small groups of 4-6th graders to tap some of the maple trees on school property. The sap will be collected in buckets and boiled down to syrup in the School’s sugar shack. Link to 19 Pictures. An important book for all ages, Little Leaders educates and inspires as it relates true stories of forty trailblazing black women in American history. Illuminating text paired with irresistible illustrations bring to life both iconic and lesser-known female figures of Black history such as abolitionist Sojourner Truth, pilot Bessie Coleman, chemist Alice Ball, politician Shirley Chisholm, mathematician Katherine Johnson, poet Maya Angelou, and filmmaker Julie Dash.  An ALA Best Book for Young Adults, the award-winning account of how 18 million women, many of whom had never before held a job, entered the workforce in 1942-45 to help the United States fight World War II.
