KINDERGARTEN EMBRYOLOGY PROJECT

It is the time of year where students in kindergarten are incubating chicken and duck eggs. These photos were taken in Ms. Lawyers’ and Ms. Dupont’s classrooms. The eggs are due to hatch in about a month. A question was asked. "Could the new chicks that will hatch be added to the SACS flock?" The answer, unfortunately, is no. The established chickens are likely to make life very tough for any newcomers. So, it is better that they go elsewhere.

This student of Ms. Lawyer’s is misting the duck eggs which benefit from moisture. Not so the chicken eggs.

This student in Ms. Dupont’s classroom checked out the eggs that are incubating in a dark area on the side of their classroom.

It’s that time of year!  The Vermont Golden Dome Book Award (formerly the Dorothy Canfield Fisher Book Award) was created to honor excellence in children's literature. Each year since 1957, Vermont students in grades four through eight have selected their favorite book from a list of nominees. If students had read at least FIVE of the year's nominated titles please vote for their favorite using the google form link. https://forms.gle/6UUtpiH9C1oHZtF87 The deadline for voting is May 6th, 2022.  When the winner is announced we will celebrate with a gathering and discussion of this year’s books.
