EXPLORERS GAGA BALL FACES DREAMERS TRICYCLE FACES - DUPONT EXPLORERS GYMNASTS TADPOLES (DREAMERS) - DUPONT Many of the PreK and kindergarten classrooms collected wetland water with plenty of tiny tadpoles for learning purposes. They were kept and fed in aquariums in each classroom. Just before they they turned into frogs, the tadpoles were released back into the wetlands. It was a great learning and observation project for the kids. The project took place mostly in April. SIDEWALK CHALK ACTIVITY With sunny days and warm temperatures, sidewalk art and games are happening everywhere. TWO DANDELIONS MERGED ONTO ON STALK GREENUP DAY Mayor Tim Smith sent these three pictures of some of the garbage collected on Greenup day by students and residents of St. Albans this last Saturday. He wanted to thank everyone who supported the event. He also hoped that students enjoyed their reward of a creemee for their generous work. TWINS |
WALKING WEDNESDAY THIS WEEK With the incredible weather we have this week it would be nice to see a really large turnout for Walking Wednesday. Last week it rained, reducing participation to 84 people. Records from previous school years show that on good days in May our participation can be much higher. Please consider joining one of the scheduled Walking School Buses or walk or bike to school on your own. As always, there is no obligation to participate in this event. Motorized school buses will run as normal.

GREEN STORMWATER INFRASTRUCTURE AND PRACTICES INFORMATIONAL NIGHT
Team USA students are preparing and hosting a Green Stormwater Infrastructure and Practices informational event for local residents and landowners at City School on May 12th from 6-7 pm in the school cafeteria. The purpose of the event is for the students to put into practice and apply the concepts they have been working on in class learning about watersheds, lake and stream ecosystems, and stormwater. They have learned how stormwater management impacts St. Albans Bay and will share that knowledge along with suggesting practices for supporting the overall health of the Bay. The format will be that students will be set up around the cafeteria with informational booths for community members to visit and have discussions about/with. All are welcome! |
