PICTURES

DREAMERS BABY CHICKS - BROGLE

The children in Ms. Brogle’s room were very excited about having the chance to handle their newly hatched chicks. 5-19-2022.  The request to them was to be gentle and careful even when getting pecked or pooped on. Plenty of hand washing occurred between and after chick handling episodes. Link to 12 Pictures.

Here are 13 more Pictures that Ms. Brogle supplied from the previous day.

ADVENTURERS BABY CHICKS - BORCH

Here are PreK and kindergarten students in Ms. Borch’s classroom enjoying their time with baby chicks. Link to 23 Pictures.

TRIUMPH WEEDING PROJECT - DRAPER

Students worked with Ms. Draper on Wednesday, 5-18-2022, to clear out some of the weeds in the blueberry and raspberry beds. For several years now, capacity for garden maintenance has been low. Consequently, these fruit bearing bushes and canes have become overwhelmed by weeds. Team Triumph has set out to change that situation for this aspect of the garden.  Link to 15 Pictures.

DREAMERS BABY CHICKS - DUPONT

Ms. Dupont’s room had chicks hatch earlier than they did in most other rooms. Consequently, they are soon going to be too big to keep in the classroom. The photographs taken were perhaps of one of the last chances these children will have to touch and hold their chicks before they sent to live elsewhere. They are still soft and adorable and FIESTY.  Link to 21 Pictures.

FAMILY STEAM AFTERNOON - RANKIN, BORST, BERTUCCI

Once again young students and their family members enjoyed a session of creating and playing in the library with a whole range of tech toys and supplies. Wednesday afternoon, 5-18-2022

VOYAGERS OUTSIDE

The Voyagers were circled together outside in Wednesday’s perfect weather. 5-19-2022

BOOKS TO INVESTIGATE IN THE LIBRARY

To a rock climber, a boulder is called a "problem," and you solve it by climbing to the top. There are twists and turns, falls and scrapes, and obstacles that seem insurmountable until you learn to see the possibilities within them. And then there is the moment of triumph, when there's nothing above you but sky and nothing below but a goal achieved.

Ashima Shiraishi draws on her experience as a world-class climber in this story that challenges readers to tackle the problems in their own lives and rise to greater heights than they would have ever thought possible.

Mindy Kim just wants three things:

1. A puppy!

2. To fit in at her new school

3. For her dad to be happy again

But, getting all three of the things on her list is a lot trickier than she thought it would be. On her first day of school, Mindy’s school snack of dried seaweed isn’t exactly popular at the lunch table. Luckily, her new friend, Sally, makes the snacks seem totally delicious to Mindy’s new classmates, so they decide to start the Yummy Seaweed Business to try and raise money for that puppy!

When another student decides to try and sabotage their business, Mindy loses more than she bargained for—and wonders if she’ll ever fit in. Will Mindy be able to overcome her uncertainty and find the courage to be herself?
