PICTURES BLACK LIVES MATTER FLAG RAISING Shortly after 9:00 AM on Wednesday morning, 6-1-2022, a brief ceremony was held in conjunction with the first-time raising of the Black Lives Matter flag at St. Albans City School. Because of the rain, most students and staff members watched a live stream of the event in their classrooms. Link to a 4 ½ minute video of the ceremony. Link to still pictures of the ceremony. FLAGPOLE SIDESTORY Last week the rope that raises our flags came down in strong winds. The Facilities manager, Mr. Ransom, organized a truck to attach a new rope to the top of the pole. That truck’s lift was about 15 feet short of reaching the top. A large fire truck was called in with a massive ladder and the new rope was successfully attached. Thanks to both organizations that supplied the trucks. Link to 24 Pictures. STEWARDSHIP DAY After an absence of two years, the school celebrated Stewardship Day on Wednesday, June 1st. Every learning community has some form of ongoing stewardship project that benefits the school or wider city community. The 4th through 8th graders shared what they are doing with their projects with rotating groups of Pre-K through 3rd graders. Everyone wore their Stewardship T-shirts as they attended a wide variety of stewardship activities. Link to 73 Pictures. CLASSROOM AND TEAM PICTURES Teams took classroom and team pictures on Stewardship Day. These photos will be assembled into a collage in the upcoming days. Teachers, please send those photos to Mr. Craib. TWINS |
