GEOCACHING CAMP

The Geocaching Camp took a field trip to the Milton Town Forest. In total they hiked 3.75 miles and climbed 17 flights (in elevation).  Along the way they identified trees and berries, and showed students sap lines, beaver habitat amd lots and lots of salamanders! Link to 13 Pictures.

On Thursday, July 7th, the group traveled over the the Collins Perley recreation center to go geocaching. They used handheld GPS units and maps of the area to locate various caches. It was fun. Link to 21 Pictures.

HUMANITIES CAMP 2022

The theme of this summer’s camp is survival. As always, the camp uses their theme to dive deep into books that are engrossing and meaningful to the older campers and their adult leaders. Between and during readings the students have been working on projects like knot tying and making ‘go bags’ (bags of survival items needed in cases of emergency). Link to 7 Pictures of students tying knots.

Here are the books the camp is using for their learning.

The book ‘Alone’ by Megan E. Freeman is proving very popular with this group.

Check out the Humanities Camp blog which posts pictures of the campers daily and shows previous humanities camp students and activities. Link to Their Blog.

BAY CAMP

These 8th & 9th grade campers are having a great time fishing and playing various field games at the St. Albans Bay Park.

BOARD GAMES CAMP

The school has a ton of board games. Ms. Berry and Ms. Broomhall are taking the time to introduce their campers to multi-faceted world of this kind of play. The group takes breaks outside for physical movement between board games.  Link to 9 Pictures.

MARCHING BAND CAMP

The campers practiced marching while playing their instruments on Thursday, July 7th - not an easy task. At this stage of the camp, they are doing a beautiful job.  Link to 29 Pictures and one video clip.

BOOKS TO LIFE CAMP

Campers have been reading a variety of books and working on publishing a book of their own. These pictures came from a session of origami making that served as a break from their main focus. Link to 5 Pictures.

CANOE AND FISHING CAMP

This group went down to the St. Albans Bay park where they pushed off and then paddled up the main tributary feeding into the bay. Link to 24 Pictures.

NON TRADITIONAL CAMP
