HUMANITIES CAMP

Read aloud session before lunch. 7-6-2022

EARLY CHILDHOOD PROGRAM CAMP

CANOE AND FISHING CAMP

This was the first day in the canoe’s. The group chose to go to Fairfield Pond since it has an easy starting point with shallow sandy waters and not much wind. Tipping over is less problematic there. These pictures are of the launch at Fairfield Pond.  Link to 24 Photos.

MINECRAFT AND BUILDING CAMP

Ms. Cameron-Muscente has taught Minecraft camps at St. Albans City School for a number of summers now. Link to 9 Minecraft Pictures.

She learned that it helps to break up computer time with various physical activities during the day. On Wednesday, the students built boats with tin foil, tongue depressors, pipe cleaners and a few other times. These boats were tested for their ability to float in a bucket of water when stressed by winds and various loads. Link to Pictures  of the campers building their boats. Campers were asked to share their boat building vision and construction processes with the group. Boats for buoyancy and function in a dish washing bucket.

BASKETBALL CAMP

The group took time out from basketball practice to simply play on the playground in the improving weather. At one point, everyone gathered for a team photo on one of the playground’s apparatus.

NON-TRADITIONAL CAMP

Here are some pictures of the campers on Tuesday, July 6th. Link to 14 Pictures.

MARCHING BAND CAMP

Campers practiced marching without instruments on a field laid out with lines similar to those found on a football field.

They also practiced playing their instruments indoors individually with Mr. Kelly or as a group under his guidance. Link to 9 Pictures.

CHEER CAMP

Campers practiced doing standard moves in unison under the guidance of Ms. LeBlanc. Link to 9 Pictures.

COOKING CAMP

Campers made a Chex mix on Wednesday. As the mixture firmed up on a clean surface, campers colored, made paper airplanes, or played various simple games. 7-6-2022

SOCCER CAMP

Campers played a game of Simon Says with Mr. Stark while Mr. Deslauriers set up for another soccer skill-developing drill. Link to 9 Pictures.
