SUMMER CAMP ARRIVAL

Campers arrived by bus and personal vehicles on Tuesday morning. Kids and adult camp leaders had to locate each other. Transportation issues had to be sorted out. Breakfast needed to be served and introductions made. Soon everyone settled into the expected activities. Kids appeared eager to spend time actively with new and old friends. Link to 10 Pictures.

GEOCACHING CAMP

Ms. Wight developed an incredible map of the school property to teach campers about using longitude and latitude to locate items (cute yellow rubber ducks). This exercise taught campers some fundamental map-reading skills and had them happily ranging around the school’s campus all morning.  Link to 8 Pictures.

Ms. Jarvis is shown holding up Ms. Wight’s map. Each camp staff member launched forth with a small group of campers to sharpen their skills.

SOCCER CAMP

The rain held off for this group of campers to practice their passing skills. In this exercise partners passed a ball back and forth using the inside of their feet. There was a lot of excitement and energy for moving about. Kids were eager to show off how fast they were and what they could do.

NON TRADITIONAL CAMP

These campers lucked out with the expected rain holding off during camp hours. As a result, they were able to enjoy considerable time outside (and inside) playing a variety of unfamiliar and familiar games. It was a great way for these older campers to enjoy time with each other. Link to Pictures.

BAY CAMP FISHING

Campers gathered in the cafeteria to familiarize themselves with the fishing equipment that they were to use at St. Albans Bay. They set up their rods and learned how to attach hooks to their fishing lines.  Link to 5 Pictures.

The Cioffi brothers shared a few pictures of campers with their fishing catches.

CHEER CAMP

The kids were being checked into camp in the little gym at the beginning of the day when this picture was taken.

BASKETBALL CAMP

Mr. Ward prepared to have campers do passing drills as a start to the basketball camp activities.

MEALS

The Abbey staff are shown preparing lunch on the first day of summer camp. 7-5-2022
