VOYAGERS 5TH GRADE & IMAGINATION 1ST GRADE JOINT STEAM ACTIVITIES

Ms. Bashaw and Ms. Bachand are joining their classroom groups together on Friday mornings this Fall for STEAM learning activities. The 5th graders are mentoring the younger students through whatever the teachers have planned for the joint session. This past Friday (9-23-2022) the whole crew took a tour through the wetlands before returning to Ms. Bashaw’s classroom for some engaging lessons about leaves. Since the energy was high when the students were outdoors, Ms. Bachand had them run to and from the wetlands. That made everyone a bit more ready to hear directions and learn when expected. 9-23-2022. Link to 34 Pictures.

INCREDIBLES 6TH GRADE - MUIR

NATIONAL HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH - BOOKS TO CONSIDER IN THE LIBRARY

Did you know it is National Hispanic Heritage Month? It is celebrated in the U.S. from September 15 to October 15 and recognizes the contributions and influence of Hispanic Americans to the history, culture, and achievements in the United States. Checkout these books in our library today!

Nuestra América highlights the inspiring stories of thirty Latina/o/xs throughout history and their incredible contributions to the cultural, social, and political character of the United States.

The stories in this book cover each figure's cultural background, childhood, and the challenges and opportunities they met in pursuit of their goals.

When a girl is asked where she’s from—where she’s really from—none of her answers seems to be the right one.

Unsure about how to reply, she turns to her loving abuelo for help. He doesn’t give her the response she expects. She gets an even better one.

Where am I from?

You’re from hurricanes and dark storms, and a tiny singing frog that calls the island people home when the sun goes to sleep....

With themes of self-acceptance, identity, and home, this powerful, lyrical picture book will resonate with readers young and old, from all backgrounds and of all colors—especially anyone who ever felt that they don’t belong.
