PICTURES WALKING WEDNESDAY RESULTS We had another perfect fall morning for walking or biking to school. One hundred students and 18 adults joined one of the seven Walking School Bus routes. Team Triumph had the largest turnout for learning communities. The Walking Wednesday raffle winners this week were from Voyagers (E.P.) and Triumph (D.D.). They will be awarded their metal water bottles on Thursday. FAIRFAX CROSS COUNTRY RACE - GRUDEV Fairfax BFA puts on the most popular cross regional country race of the fall. Elementary, middle school and high school runners are invited to dress up in costumes and compete on a very hilly course. There is costume parade and contest prior to the races which is great fun to participate in and watch. The younger students then have a mass start race and, when they are done, it is the high schoolers’ turn. Most years, the weather is spectacular for the event and this year it was the case again. There are a few pictures of high school students in the parade that used to run for our school. Most of the pictures are of the current students. Link to 70 pictures. OPEN DOORS ADVENTURES This week we made a family tree with twigs from our fields. The students worked on designing the leaves to go on the tree. We haven't finished them all as we started out with a fall scavenger hunt outside. The students were able to find everything accept the scarecrow!
