VOYAGERS 5TH GRADE EARTHWORM SCIENCE - BASHAW

Pairs of students each received a paper plate, a square of black paper, a set of magnifying glasses and an earthworm. The goal was to closely observe their worm and draw it. They were also charged with noting what the leading end of the earthworm did and how it differed in structure and possible function from the back end of the worm. They were to watch what the earthworm did on the plate (They tended to crawl beneath the square of black construction paper) and speculate about that behavior. They had to report any other thoughts or conjectures they had during the session. More will be done with the worms in a later class. 1-9-2023.  Link to 19 Pictures.

BOOT FITTING FOR CROSS COUNTRY SKIING - JARVIS & ANDREWS

Fifth, sixth and seventh graders were fitted for cross country ski boots on Monday, January 9th. Ms. Jarvis and Andrews came up with a very efficient fitting system where four students at time sat down for boot try-ons while the rest were active at stations located around the big gym. Sizing went quickly. Izzy, from the Catamount Ski Association, helped students figure out how to put on and adjust the boots.

Parent/guardian completed permission forms are still needed for many of the 5th, 6th and 7th graders. If your form has been misplaced, here is the link to the digital pdf. version of the consent form or the on-line version of the form can be filled in.
