WHOOPING COUGH
Dear SACS community,
It has been brought to our attention there are multiple confirmed cases of whooping cough in Franklin county, including some in our surrounding schools. In an attempt to keep our students and staff as healthy and informed as possible, we would like to share the Department of Health’s most recent update as well as some tips to stay healthy.
Like many respiratory illnesses, pertussis (whooping cough) is spread by coughing and sneezing while in close contact with others, who then breathe in the pertussis bacteria. Practicing good hygiene is always recommended to prevent the spread of respiratory illnesses. To practice good hygiene you should:

Discovery Students Made Art in Ms. Martinson's Class 11-8-2016
By folding long sheets of paper they were able to make funny faces that expanded into wide mouthed expressions. The Dreamers Team Made Mini Pizzas and Weeded the Blueberries. These are pictures of students in the Dreamers community picking vegetables in their garden. They made tomato sauce and then little pizzas. On Tuesday 11-8-2016 Mrs. Williams went out and helped Heather Smith weed around the blueberry bushes.

In 2nd grade, Travelers have been learning about place value. They have been building, drawing, and writing numbers. Also, they have been talking to partners and in groups about what each digit means and writing it in expanded form. Below are some photos of all their hard work.
