PICTURES AND REPORTS

RENAISSANCE
Eight students from Renaissance worked with Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Lamb to make applesauce from apples grown on school property.  The apples were washed, cut into sections and placed into several pots for cooking down into applesauce.  The applesauce will be shared at open house night on September 28th.

TRAVELERS
Students in Ms. Mangis' classroom studied how trees get their seeds to travel distances by wind, water, animal or bird. Then they settled down to work on wind-related transport by creating a paper glider, spinner or rotor transport system of their own. Students stood on a short step ladder and dropped their winged seed. If the seed flew beyond the dark (shaded) area below the tree (step ladder) it was considered a success. Everyone had fun making and flying their seeds.
