PICTURES AND REPORTS
FAMILY AND CONSUMER SCIENCE
On Monday we picked tomatoes, eggplants, carrots for the cafeteria and sweet raspberries for our (Mrs. Lamb's) class.
NURSES OFFICE
Each day dozens of students drop by the nurses office for some loving care. Here Mrs. Raleigh checks the temperature of one of the younger students.
DISCOVERY FIELD TRIP (9-29-2017)
Discovery students walked to Hard'ack for a tour through the woods on a beautiful Fall day. It took about 1 1/2 miles of walking to reach the entry point to Hard'ack at the top of Congress Street. Students are shown arriving at that point for some directions and a water break before hitting the trails. The whole trip lasted about three hours.
ART CLASS
Students crafted large wands in Ms. Haberman's art class. Often students incorporated electrical light(s) into the design. Check out the creative designs assembled by students in the class.
ART WORK
We are reaching the point in the school year where there is plenty of student art work to post in various hall ways. Look closely and appreciate the fine work next time you are touring the school. These pictures came from the hallway next Ms. Martinson's room and from the atrium near the cafeteria.
WESTFORD CROSS-COUNTRY RACE. 10-2-2017
The Raiders running team travelled to Westford Elementary school for one of the most rugged courses in the cross-country circuit. The Westward route covers 2.2 miles of hilly, root and hole infested trails in the Town Forest surrounding the school. Our students were definitely impressed with "killer hill", a very rough and steep hill in the wooded section of the course. The Westward race is held in beautiful countryside and is always very well managed. A unique component of the race is that students are timed with a chip tied to their shoes. When they cross over a special mat at the end of the race, a computer times their performance accurately. With hundreds of boys and girls from around the region competing in each race, a system like that one is essential.
