ORCHESTRA New Orchestra teacher, Mr. Rusty Charpentier came by St. Albans City School to see how he could let you know about joining the district orchestra. He decided that a short video might be best as a way to get the information across to you. Would you be interested in playing in the Maplerun Unified School District Orchestra? If so, check out this brief video he made. LINK TO 2-MINUTE LONG VIDEO Here is another offering you might want to consider from Mr. Charpentier: "New at SACS and all MRUSD schools this year, students may now enroll in Orchestra! In Orchestra students can learn the skills necessary to play the violin, viola, cello, or bass. If you're curious about playing an orchestral instrument, come to the instrument "petting zoo" on September 5th any time between 4-6pm in the SATEC Kiva. You'll get to see performance demonstrations, try each of the orchestral instruments, and learn about how to participate in your school's orchestra program. Follow the link to see and share the PETTING ZOO FLYER. If you already know you'd like to join, you can fill out this ORCHESTRA REGISTRATION FORM and Mr. Charpentier will contact you with further information. Contact Alex "Rusty" Charpentier at acharpentier@maplerun or 802-752-2777 with any questions. |
REPORTS AND PICTURES
STUDENTS SHINED AT CONVOCATION 8-24-2018
At the beginning of each school year teachers and staff from the Maplerun Unified School District gather at the Collins Perley athletic center for convocation. It is a time for connecting with other teachers and staff and for hearing from administrators about the hopes and goals for the school year. Convocation also includes some kind of keynote speaker or event and this year that meant a spoken word performance by students from around the district. These young community members provided a powerful demonstration of the creativity and talent that exists in our student population. With just four days of practice, the students assembled an outstanding Speak Chorus show. LINK TO 140 PICTURES of students practicing and performing. You may recognize current and former city school students. There were students from Fairfield, SATEC and BFA as well.

Check out the song at 13:20 to 17:00 minutes
SUMMER FUN POSTED IN SCHOOL ENTRANCE LOBBY Ms. Trainer was kind enough to track what some of our students and few staff were up to this past summer. Here is a photo of the display she created. Ms. Trainer and Ms. S. Rouleau are making a similar board of pictures of teachers and staff so that we can see what they were up to as well. CITIZENS BANK DONATION Representatives from Citizens Bank came by St. Albans City School on Tuesday 8-28-2018 to donate a huge box of pencils, pens, paper, backpacks and more for students. The supplies are deeply appreciated and will be well used.
Assistant Principal Ms. Rouleau greeted and thanked the representatives when they visited.
