COMPLETED PAPERWORK NEEDED Families, your child should have returned home with a folder of papers to fill out and return to the school. The completed forms are vital to the function of the school. Please send them in to your student's teacher as quickly as possible.
WALKING SCHOOL BUS PROGRAM IS EXPANDING WITH STUDENT LEADERS Only about 13% of our School's students walk or bike to school each day. We want that number to increase and we hope to accomplish this by having paid 6th, 7th and 8th-grade walking school bus leaders guide younger students to school safely. The walking school bus routes will be the same as those used for Walking Wednesdays and leaders will walk five days per week until Thanksgiving. We will also offer the program in the spring. If you are in one of these older grade students, then consider applying for a walking school bus leadership position. Those selected will earn $20/month, or $1.00 per day. You only need to lead walking to school. Leaders will have to be very responsible, reliable, and willing to lead their walking school buses in any kind of weather.
RENAISSANCE NEEDS YOUR COMPOST!
Renaissance is ready to start taking breakfast and snack compost from your classrooms. Please bring it to the Renaissance community and dump it into the buckets at the end of the hall by 2:00 pm each day. Renaissance will compost the food waste to make nutrient-rich soil for the school gardens.
Please make sure there is no dairy or trash in the compost.
SHARE FRIDGE ORGANIZATION
Let's do our part to keep the Share Fridge organized! Stack or place things neatly, keeping similar foods together (like juice with juice, bagels with bagels, etc.).
Thanks for your support on this.

PICTURES AND REPORTS
FRUIT AND VEGETABLE and MEALS PROGRAMS
We are one of the few schools in Vermont with a long-time free fruit and vegetable snack program. Our free breakfasts and lunches are more recent but equally vital to our school. We have these programs because enough parents turn in free and reduced lunch forms that we qualify for federal funding. These are hugely important programs for us and most students really appreciate the healthy snacks and meals.
These students were photographed picking up snacks, clean compost buckets and classroom breakfasts to take back to their classrooms. 8-30-2019
BAND GROUPS ASSEMBLED
Mr. Kelly began to assemble band students for regular practices. This group met on Friday the 30th of August to go over expectations and plan for use of instruments. 8-30-2019
