SNOW TUBE USE GUIDELINES

  • Enjoy sledding, be safe, and be kind to each other.

  • Walk up the hill behind the line of hay bales on your side of the sledding hill. This is to keep you from being hit by people sliding down the hill.

  • Never drag the snow tubes on the sidewalk. The bottoms will be scratched and they will not slide as well down the hill.

  • When you are done sledding, stack the snow tubes on the snow at the top of the hill. Do not bring them to the recess shed.

  • If you tied the tubes together, please untie them

WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA CEREMONY

Wreaths Across America is an organization that coordinates wreath-laying ceremonies at more than 3,400 locations across the United States, at sea and abroad. The VFW Post 758 and American Legion Post #1 worked with our local students to pull off a Wreaths Across America event next door to St. Albans City School on Friday, December 16th. Together, they placed around 20 wreaths in Mt Calvary Cemetery before heading out to complete other local cemeteries.

The 7/8 students from Team USA and one from Triumph showed up to play taps on a trumpet, hear the reading of a special poem, stand with military flags, place plaques at a memorial site, and then place wreaths around Calvary Cemetery. Link to 51 Pictures.

Team USA members recorded the event on video and shared additional photos.

DISCOVERY 6TH GRADE CIRCUIT SCIENCE - BERTUCCI & MARRIN

Ms. Bertucci led the class through a lesson in how to connect circuits of batteries, wires, switches and LED light bulbs to create light on demand. When this had been figured out, she taught the students how to use the length of time the lights were lit to represent either 0’s or 1’s. Then, by stringing these 1’s and 0’s together into groups of five she showed students how letters of the alphabet could be represented. Following that, she had student share words or messages with each other using the light circuit they had previously built. So much learning took place in this class session. 12-15-2022.  Link to 45 Pictures.
