EVENTS AND NOTICES

STUDENT NARRATOR/INTERN NEEDED TODAY
FOR IMMEDIATE, FOCUSED VIDEO WORK OVER JANUARY.

This will be a challenging responsibility that will make you locally well-known at school and in St. Albans.

Mr. Craib, and 8th Graders Jackson Hayes and Jack Sparr, are assembling a 20-30 minute long history video for the school's 50th Anniversary. They need a clear-speaking on-camera narrator and voiceover person.

Qualifications:
  • Able to quickly remember and speak 1-3 lines at a time while being videoed, and do so repeatedly.  There are 5-6 pages of lines, but you only have to remember a few at a time for each video clip.
  • Able to speak clearly in a way that makes viewers interested in the video content.
  • Able to address the camera/audience without distracting from the content
  • Able to work one hour a day over January during school and some afternoons to record the narrative component of the video. Transport home can be arranged if you work after school.
  • The video needs to be completed by the end of January and the workload may go up as the deadline approaches.

If this describes you, then contact Mr. Craib first thing Tuesday morning, January 8th, to set up an audition. Auditioning will occur throughout the school day.

PICTURES AND REPORTS

Do you know where this “cornerstone” is located?

This date is extremely important in the history of our school.

On October 7, 1968, there was a ground-breaking ceremony which celebrated a long journey to the opening of St. Albans City Elementary School.

This year’s Unified Arts night is dedicated to that journey.

We will be looking at St. Albans City schools prior to 1968. There were a lot of bumps and turns on the road to the grand opening of St. Albans City Elementary School on September 14, 1970.

We will share photos, newspaper articles, and artifacts that document that journey.

The final phase of the journey will be presented at Unified Arts Night, on Tuesday, February 5, 2019, from 5:00-7:00pm.

Happy 50th Anniversary
St. Albans City School
