EVENTS AND NOTICES

image.pngAll registrations for this summer's peer leadership mini-camp are due Monday June 10! We have several spots left for current 6th and 7th-grade students. Because this camp conflicts with other camps, we will only hold SEED camp for two days, July 15 and16. Please return registration forms to Jamilah Vogel.

* Humanities Campers will be able to sign up for BOTH camps!

* If any student is interested in this program but not able to register for camp, please talk to Ms. Jamilah to request an exception.

Due to expected rain and wet fields, field day plans have shifted to Thursday and Friday

Thursday 6/6 9:00-  Explorers and Travelersnafternoon- 4-6 Communities

Friday 6/7 1:30-  Imagination and Investigators

We will have students from 4-6 Discovery and 1-3 Imagination that
are available to help out at each station during these times. (realizing
that 6th grade will be on bike trip Friday)

Gr. 7 and 8 had their regular carnival day with pre-k/k on Tuesday (6/4)
and will also have access to the field day equipment to use any other
day or time between now and the last day of school.

Field Day Content!
Bring your sneakers (a change of clothes for the water activities might help too!)
on Wednesday and be prepared to have some fun!

There will be four FUN and FANTASTIC  stations that you will be at for 10 minutes each.
*Teachers will be given bracelets to hand out prior to going outside. Each color bracelet
will travel together through the stations and each station will be broken up into two groups (making a total of 8 groups/colors outside at a time). There will also be a corresponding
flag so colors know where they are located and when to move.

Station 1: Sack Relay Race

Station 2: Drip Drip Drench
-Duck duck goose meets water

Station 3: 3 Legged Race
-A race where students connect one of their legs with an elastic band
Image result for 3 legged race

Station 4: Sponge Relay
-Students line up in a straight line behind a bucket of water
-1st person wets a sponge and then passes it over their head to the person behind them
-The goal is to get as much of that water into an empty bucket behind the very last person
in line by only using the sponge

8th-GRADE TRIP
8th graders are selling raffle tickets for some great prizes (Grand Prize is 4 comfy seats at graduation), all money collected goes to their 8th-grade trip.  Ask an 8th grader if you would like to purchase some.  Thank you for your support

8th graders were given permission slips last Friday for their year-end trip, these need to be signed and returned by May 31st.

PICTURES AND REPORTS

TRAVELERS' BEES

We have a new hive of bees located in Mr. Pac's classroom and donated by Grady's Golden Goodness. The bees exit and enter the building through a tube in a window space. Please use care and avoid disturbing the bees when walking by Travelers on the sidewalk outside of their classrooms. Thank you

BLAST FROM THE PAST FOR 8TH GRADERS

6TH GRADE BIKE TRIP PICTURES 2017
The weather cooperated for an epic bike trip out to the Abbey Restaurant on the rail trail. Students celebrated their country ride with a wonderful cookout and ball games in the Abbey fields and on the volleyball courts. A portion of the students were up for the ride back to school as well.  A good time was had by students and the staff that came along to chaperone the event.
