PICTURES 4th-6th BLUE GROUP ART STUDENTS Ms. Haberman shared pictures she took of her students doing art work on Tuesday, September 15th. This year the art teachers are coming to students with a cart of art supplies rather than having whole teams of students moving through the hallways and into communal art classrooms. Link to 9 Pictures ⅞ GIRLS SOCCER These photos were taken on Tuesday evening, the first day of practice for the Fall 2020 soccer season. 9-15-2020. Link to 27 Pictures ANTICIPATION OF A MONARCH BUTTERFLY HATCHING Ms. Dupont brought in a Monarch Butterfly chrysalis to show her Dreamers kindergarteners. The butterfly was expected to hatch that morning (9-17-2020). To bring some additional learning into the experience, Ms. Dupont read a butterfly story to her students, had them color butterfly-related images, and had them make butterfly hats to wear. ⅞ MUSIC CLASS Renaissance students met outside their classrooms with Mr. Kelly on Tuesday, Sept. 15th to practice drumming. UKELELE LESSON Ms. Hartman taught students to use small instruments called ukeleles in one Voyagers classroom. Link to 10 Pictures ARRIVAL AT SCHOOL Link to 14 Pictures from 9-17-2020 LOCKER DISINFECTING On Wednesday, Mr. Weisburgh gathered up the fogging equipment and made the rounds of all the lockers used by 4th - 8th Graders. The purpose of the fogging is to make sure that the lockers are thoroughly sanitized for the next set of students who will come to school to use them. SANITIZING BUSES After every bus run the buses are fogged with a sanitizing fluid. This happens at St. Albans City School, St. Albans Town Educational Center, or at BFA. CUSTODIAN POSITION AVAILABLE St. Albans City School is seeking to hire an experienced, self-directed individual to join our Second Shift Facility Team. This person must have a keen eye for detail, be mechanically inclined, able to maneuver up to 40 pounds, and possess knowledge in the following: Commercial Floorcare, Institutional Building Sanitation, and Disinfection, Composting, Recycling, Operation of Industrial Equipment, Commercial Lawn Care, Glass Care, Building Security, and minor Building Maintenance and Repairs. In addition, this position requires the ability to stand for long periods of time, and flexibility to shift tasks easily. The preferred candidate will be responsible for leading a 3 to 4 person team, making sure the assignments are completed satisfactorily, and will report directly to the Facility Manager. Candidate must possess excellent interpersonal/communication skills. Knowledge of OSHA Regulations a plus. Qualified candidates must be collaborative team members and have a passion for children.
