WEDNESDAY - SEPTEMBER 23rd, 2020
Dear Families, Chromebooks will start to go home by the end of this week, and meals will be going home the first in-person day, not the second. Friday will be the first day when Hybrid student Chromebooks will be going home. This Friday Chromebooks for 4th-8th grade will be going home for students on Green days. These would need to be back on Thursday, charged, and ready to go so they are available for learning at school on in-person days. We have waited for a few things to make this successful. We have purchased Chromebook cases so that they can travel successfully. We have also been doing instruction on how students should use and care for their Chromebooks. They are working at school with the same Chromebook they will be taking home. Below is the picture of the Chromebook kits that students will come home with. Notice that the Chromebook, case, and charger are all numbered. The number on each is the same so that families can manage keeping student technology together. When students come to school, they need to use the case to transport the Chromebook, and the charger needs to be with it. Thank you for helping us make this successful. Blue day students in grades 4-8 will be taking their Chromebooks home Tuesday, September 29th. These will be expected back for learning the following Monday, charged, and ready to go so they are available for learning at school on in-person days. Please understand that for student Chromebooks to go home we will need all Technology Agreements signed and returned, and the Chromebooks lent to families in the spring must be returned. Because Chromebooks will be going home on Tuesday and Friday, meals will now be going home on Monday and Thursday. We do not want to have students trying to bring home both at once. The meal day switch will happen this Thursday for all students PreK-8th grade. For our fully virtual students, meals will still be available on Wednesday for pickup at the front door. A Chromebook Safety Take-home Paper located here will also be in the Chromebook case to help you troubleshoot any issues. Thank you for all of your support and patience. We know that this next step will help make remote learning days more successful and engaging. For families of our younger students, we expect to be able to have their Chromebooks ready to go starting next Friday, Oct 2nd. Our School Community is Raider Strong!
