Announcements - Lots of important events and information

Dear Families

We are excited to host our first Outside Open House tomorrow Sept. 2nd and Thursday Sept. 3rd. One of the COVID requirements is that no-one may enter the building unless they are an employee, contract service or student. For this reason, we must meet with our families virtually or outside. We want to meet in person, so we are hosting our outdoor event. Please understand that even though we are outside, masks are required.

Each team will have a designated area to meet. For teams on the first floor this will be right outside their doors. Staff will be there to greet you. For teams on the second floor, Triumph will meet their families on the patio located behind the cafeteria. Voyagers will meet their families under the front canopy. Incredibles will meet their families under the pavilion by the playground. Team Discovery has moved to the first floor where Team USA was last year, and Team USA moved to the music wing near the gym.  Also, all teachers in Team Imagination are located on the Bus Loop side of our building, and all Kindergarten classes face the front parking lot.

When you come to the Open House, packets with important information will be available for you to take home, complete and send back on the first in-person school day. Everyone will have an opportunity to participate in a Health Check at Open House.  You and your child will be asked some routine health questions as well as temperature checks.  This will help us all get used to our new process.  Below is a map of where the Health Check stations are located for each team. They are close to the outdoor spaces being used for Open House.

Finally for tonight, a quick note about technology. Students will get to bring chromebooks home when we are set with contracts, carrying cases and making sure that the chromebook is set up for students to be successful if we are forced back into full remote.  We will be working on these skills the first few weeks. During this time students will have books and paper assignments for remote days. Once students do bring technology home, they will need to bring it back each in-person day, so that they have it to use at school. We are purchasing chromebook cases to help make this transition safe and successful.

Looking forward to seeing you at Open House and at the Joelle session tonight.
