USA 7TH GRADE PUBLIC SPEAKING - VAUGHN

Ms. Vaughn wanted her students to practice speaking in front of peers and adults in a quick and light-hearted way. She passed around a basket containing jokes and facts written on small pieces of paper. Whatever a student pulled out had to be read to the class. It was a successful way of making the opportunity to speak pretty easy and fun. Link to 18 Pictures.

BICYCLING

With the arrival of truly warm weather, droves of students are walking and biking to and from school. Last week we spotted 29 bikes parked outside of the school. On Thursday, 5-20-2021 there were 41. This is a record for the covid year. Many more people were seen walking than biking although no count was taken. There were lots of skate boarders too.

On Monday, May 24th, a limited number of free helmets will be available to students that need and will use them. There will be a table of helmets set up near the flag pole at the front of the school from 7:20 to 8:00 AM. Officer Cadorette will be there to hand out the helmets and help students adjust them to fit correctly. There are four styles and two sizes available. One is a BMX-style helmet.
