PICTURES BUS ARRIVAL 1st DAY OF CAMP SESSION 2 Arrival and departure times at the beginning of each summer camp session require a little time to properly place each child with their camp group. Everyone was very patient during the process on Monday morning and everyone found their team of instructors and camp mates. More than 200 campers are participating in this camp session. They then walked out to the school wetlands to take wetland water samples for use in microscopes. Some of the time they were out there, it was quiet enough for children to be able to absorb the natural plant and animal life surrounding them. Link to 12 Pictures. Some of the time there was a person weed whacking one of the wetland trails (noisy). CONVOCATION CAMP - PALMER, CAVALLO This group of campers from all the schools in the district met to plan the key-note event for convocation. It will take place at the beginning of the next school year. Convocation is the one-day assembly each August of all the district teachers and staff as they prepare for the return of students. The students put on an impressive original performance that inspires everyone to do their best. Mr. Kelly had painted an area on the athletic fields with lines similarly spaced to those on football fields. These lines were used to train the campers to coordinate their steps as they march and play their instruments. Time was also taken to improve instrument playing skills as a band independent of marching. It was a productive first day for everyone. BAY CAMP #2 - SALIT, CIOFFI, BRANON, BRACE, BROOMHALL, LAWLER The campers fished and played games at the St. Albans Town Bay Park. Fishing went particularly well. 7-19-2021 |
