SACS STUDENTS IN CONVOCATION PERFORMANCE

Over the last four years, talented students, with the help of drama, music, and media staff from the Maplerun Unified School District, have created compelling and inspirational performances for convocation. Convocation involves the assembly of all the district employees by zoom meeting or in-person at the beginning of the school year to focus on providing the best education possible for our students in the months ahead. Current and former St. Albans City School students are very well represented by the students putting on these performances. Here are a few photos from this year's performance at the BFA performing arts center.

UPDATE ON A FORMER SACS STUDENT - ISAAC SULLIVAN

Issac competed in archery around the country at a high level while a student at SACS. Since graduating in 2019 he has become even more competitive. On August 14th, 2021, he competed in Wroclaw, Poland in the World Archery Youth Championships, finishing with a Bronze medal. His scores were very close to those above him. Way to go Isaac!

BUILDING HEATING BOILERS REPLACED

One of the major maintenance tasks this summer at SACS was the replacement of the boiler system. Our school has a very large building and we rely upon efficient gas heaters to keep spaces comfortable. The old boilers had reached the end of their functional life and were replaced by much more energy-efficient units. Now instead of being full on or full off, they will be able to modulate output to meet hourly heating needs.

CONSTRUCTION OF THE ST. ALBANS POOL AT HARD’ACK

For those who enjoy swimming in our community and are curious about the new pool construction process, here are a few recent photos. The parking lot paving and trees next to the athletic fields, and below the new recreation building, were removed. The foundation for the pool building has been completed and the holes dug for the various areas of the pools. 8-22-2021
